blackface sheep
These are Scottish Blackface sheep living in the highlands of Scotland. The black face seemed unusual to me, but Wikipedia says that roughly 30% of all sheep in the UK are of this variety. I also saw some of the white faced ones in Scotland, and they were quite noisy, but it may have been because the ewes were calling their mothers a lot due to being in an unfamiliar place.
This is the 555th photo I've posted here on my photoblog. The first photo was posted on February 11th, 2003. Stats don't really mean much, but it sure is interesting to look back and see what I was taking pictures of seven years ago.
