camel at puri

camel at puri

A man leads a camel on a beach in Puri on the Bay of Bengal in India. Judging by the elaborate decoration and saddle, the camel is meant to be hired for rides and photos by people on pilgrimage.

After more than a week dodging traffic and breathing fumes in Kolkata, the clean air and quiet streets of Puri were a welcome change. There's still so many places in India I want to see, but Puri is on my list of places to return to for a longer visit.
