As you can see in this picture, the mother duck kept an eye on me, but I didn't get very close to them. The duckling waddled a bit closer, then ran and slid down a hill and splashed into a pool of water at the bottom. It wasn't the first day on new legs, but pretty close.

There's a petting zoo nearby with baby goats that like to wobble on their new legs and butt heads with each other. I'm planning to stop by one day after work and get some photos of them in action.
