murdered in alaska
I think I paid $10 or $15 for the kaleidoscope, so I must have got my money's worth out of it by now. The rest of my gear was a lot more expensive, but I haven't bought anything in ages since I've got a good range of lenses for any occasion -- except for the super-long-distance-birdwatching lens, but I'll wait until I win a lottery to get that one.
Each of these three grave markers just inside a church yard on Blanshard Street tells a little story. The one in the middle is for a multi-bishop who was murdered in Alaska in 1886. I'm having trouble imagining what Alaska was like back in 1886, particularly what a bishop might have been doing there.
