what we don t see
I was walking around downtown Vancouver when I saw the alley across the street. It occurred to me that the alleys are there, but people ignore them and it would be interesting if I could take a photo with just the alley in focus, so that's what I did. The blur was done in-camera.
For the camera geeks: I used a tilt-shift lens for this picture and since I got it recently I'm surprised that I actually managed to get the focal plane exactly where I wanted it. The TSE isn't very useful most of the time because it has no auto focus and it breaks TTL metering when tilted and/or shifted, but it's great for weird shots like this. I have posted a few other tilt-shift photos.
