I'm disappointed, disgusted and angered by the politicization of Canada's Immigration Department to muzzle free speech. A group sent Immigration Minister Jason Kenney a letter describing Galloway as a "hater" and four days later "Kenney's office confirmed the British MP would not be allowed into the country" however "Kenney's office swatted away suggestions it was directly involved". After the recent attack in Gaza, Galloway lead a "convoy [which] included clothing, diapers, medical supplies, and $45,000 in relief money that he handed to the elected Hamas government" and Canada has legislation that bars entry to anyone "engaging in terrorism," or "being a member of a (terrorist) organization". Does that mean delivering medical supplies is equated with "engaging in terrorism"? How is that a threat to the "National Security" of Canada? What is a threat to the security of Canada is stifling free speech. You don't have to agree with Galloway, you don't even need to like him, but to deny him the right to speak goes against the the second section of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms which says:
Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: a) freedom of conscience and religion; b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and d) freedom of association.
