The bike/rail/walking portion of the bridge has been gone for months now, and construction has finally begun on the new bridge. Obviously, I'm fond of this old bridge, and I'm not optimistic the new bridge will be build on time or on budget, or that it will have the sense of gravitas this bridge has, but since it's a done deal, I'm hoping I'm wrong about all that.
